Wireless DC motor control

just surfin net looking for project ideas i got this proj. link.

unfortunately almost none of the parts/ICs i'm familiar with.
Can anyone tell me what r the parts, equivalent, familiar devices/ICc that can be used.

My partner is intrested in motor control and automation projects, and he has his own(dad's) company http://www.jayashree.co.in
( In final yr we have to do project in industry/company. Ideally one has to proj. whatever company gives, but we've luxury here doin proj. in any field, coz of his company )

I'm intrested in communication or fully software project in C.

That is why i liked this project idea. (wireless RF motor control)
Can anyone suggest any other ideas.
