Hello,

a while ago there was an automatic update of the Microsoft messenger. The download obviously didn't complete.

Since that time windows tries to install the update persistanty searching without result. That happens every two minutes, which is utmost annoying.

How can I delete the "Installer message" in the windows startup?

Thank you

That doesn't solve the problem.

I unchecked Windows Installer and acknowledged after a system start.

I also cannot find the 'Winini' to modify manually.

Was easier with windows98.

Thought problem was when messenger was running.

Than my other suggestion is to download and run Autoruns. That program let you specify programs that you don't want to start together with windows.

Thank you all gentlemen,

I ran Registry Booster (UniBlue) and the issue seems to be solved.

BTW, there are no hidden files in my system.

Regards

Hans
