Does anybody know where I can buy discountinued part LM3909?

Also, I want to know if people are still using LM3909 for their project.

Thanks!

well, I thought it's simpler to use than 555 timer and wonder if people are still using it for their project.

Is it a good idea to collect obselete parts?

The lm3909 will flash an LED for several years on a D battery. A 555 won't last more than a month or two .

It never hurts to have some outdated stuff, it's not like they take up much room and sometimes you need these parts for repairs.
