You can't protect an EPROM, but if this is a mask programmed (or OTP) micro it will most probably have code protection.

T TKS New Member Apr 5, 2004 #6 there is only one way the only way to 'read' the ecu from a engine if it is code protected you will need to fake the computer and register all de data whit a computer in files... soow you could make a pic who sends the values to a compoort of a pc.. and easyly read he com port out of the pc.. in that way you could do the readings.. but also think in faking the temperature whit your own resistors etc... TKS
