its a motorola chip with 28 legs
the top of the chip reads zc98883CPR
B69 036
A21T
HLBV9123

thanx alot

I'm not familiar with Motorola chips, but I would expect any chip used in a commercial product to be code protected to prevent you reading it?.

aparently there not, as they tell me theyve done it before but the chips where eproms

You can't protect an EPROM, but if this is a mask programmed (or OTP) micro it will most probably have code protection.

there is only one way

the only way to 'read' the ecu from a engine if it is code protected

you will need to fake the computer and register all de data whit a computer in files...

soow you could make a pic who sends the values to a compoort of a pc..

and easyly read he com port out of the pc..

in that way you could do the readings..

but also think in faking the temperature whit your own resistors etc...
