Hello,

What is V in and V out. I know its volt in and volt out.. but unlike a typical battery it doesnt have positive and negative ends...

I want to connect a battery pack.... 2x AA batteries to a device that have three electronic metal connectors... one is V in, V out and Ground...

Help.

I am no super techy im just a finance guy with a hobby.

The device you are powering sounds like some sort of sensor or transducer. In that case, the power supply is applied between Vin and Gnd, and the output signal is taken between Vout and Gnd. (In the trade, we would call this a two-port network, even though it has only three wires).

So how do i connect a battery to it?

Postive and negative goes.. too..? Thats the part that is confusing me. The reason why V in and out confuses me is because "V in" is just one connect... while a battery uses postive and a negative.. Im confused.

Battery Positive to Vin; Battery negative to Gnd. Signal out at Vout with respect to Gnd.
