what is this component ?

Can someone tell what this component is, It looks like a resistor but doesn't have the usual markings of a resistor, maybe it's a capacitor ?
it is tiny, about 3mm long.

It could be something like a 1n4148. A Google images search for that shows they look like that, but low power zener diodes are similar.

Are there any visible numbers?
 
Some temperature sensors have the same package. Look for an KTY 84 Sensor!
Without type or schematic its hard to find out something about this part.

For sure, that's a IN4148 signal diode, thought, a IN914 is even smaller or shorter so it can't be a IN914
