I have this component on a humidifier board. It looks to be stainless steel with 2 pins and the markings:

"ATC 24.000 MHZ"

On the board it has a designator saying "Y1"

What is it?

Thanks.

A 24 MHz crystal.

Ron

Ah I see. I've not come across one of those on a circuit board before. The humidifier works at around 2MHz, perhaps it is taking it's signal from this crystal.

Thanks.

It might be.

It will obviously need to be divided by 12, either using software or hardware.
