I have to translate a text with description of electronic products from Russian into English and don't know when to use the word card and when board?Could you please tell me the difference.

"Card" would usually refer to a circuit board which plugs into something else and provides some extra functionality (eg video cards, network cards, which plug into a motherboard). "Board" usually refers to any other circuit board.
