I'm a newbie and have decided to take up electronics in my retirement. I know ohms law and took a soldering course for PCB including SMD's. I've been playing with LED's to start with, but built a couple power supplies and PWM's. One from schematic alone and the rest from kits.

OK, my thread... Integrated Circuits! I've been getting a "grab bag" of IC's from a local salvage place and have several examples of one, I can't find any data on. It's marked "U 244b" and is an 8 pin package. Most Google references are not in English.

Hi Doc1590,

It's one of the Telefunken led drivers.

Thanks guys, it's nice to know what you have. Guess I'll have to build a display, huh?
