hi,
what is In-system Programming Port???
why do we use the isp port???
Which is the difference of use between serial port and isp in a microcontroller system???
is it necessary in a microcontroller system???
Also i would like to ask if a multiplexer is a good idea to increase the number of analog inputs of a microcontroller.
thanks !!!

It allows the microcontroller to be re-programmed without having to remove it from the circuit board.

No, But if you don't implement it in your circuit board you will have to remove the controller from its board and place it into your programmer every time you want to change its program. (impossible when using SMD devices)

Yes, an analog multiplexer should do fine. A 4051 for example multiplexes 8 lines to 1 and works great.
