DC/AC/Mains?

Inductive or resistive load ?

A lot more details are needed before anyone can start to guess what you're trying to do.

i know the basic concepts of an regulator and scr... but don't have an idea about making a circuit
Does your instructor expect you to get your design done by someone else?

Do you have access to the General Electric SCR Handbook (ca. 1972)? It has lots of good ideas and circuits.

Hi Cutiefloral,

Here's one that I found in the General Electric SCR manual.
It's old stuff but it will get you started.

I doubt you know your stuff if you're planning to use an SCR as a voltage regulator.

It certainly isn't the best thing to use and is useless at DC unless you're usng it for overvoltage protection.

Just use an LM317, LM78xx or a switching reglator like everyone else.
