Video Decoder Chip

Anyone have one of these? Know where I can get one? How do I program a microcontroller to decode mpeg/avi streams?

Ain't going to happen, because a microcontroller does not have the bandwidth to handle a video stream unless we're talking some really low resolution. There is some capacity to handle the audio though.

A microcontroller can send configuration commands to a decoder chip, set picture-in-picture modes, whatever the chip is capable of. But it can't handle the video stream.

Okay...by bandwidth are you talking MIPS or processor speed? And where can I find a decoder chip that I can interface a microcontroller to? The microcontroller would just control the chip, and not handle any of th actual decoding, like in a sta013; that's what I'm looking for.
