The only downside is some of those circuits end up being repeats from site to site so you can end up wasting time.... if that's an issue.
 
Another problem is that some of the circuits were designed by a moron or have errors and don't work.
Some of the circuits use obsolete ICs.
 
True --- I get a kick out of some of those sites where the author states, "I have not tested this circuit and am not accepting emails; the circuit is not open for discussion." Then why risk personal integrity in publishing the stooopid circuit to begin with? Or at the very least, state that it's some sort of preliminary, untested design.
 
A lot of thoes circuits are crap....but sometimes the sites are giving u some ideas. If u use common sense and try to understand the cicuit....
