Using PA0 (AREF) on an ATTiny1634 as a normal I/O pin while using internal 1.1 Reference

Hello,

I was planning to use PA0 as digital I/O pin, but I am unsure if I can after seeing this line in the datasheet (p196) "Internal voltage reference options may not be used if an external voltage is being applied to the AREF pin. "

Does that mean that if I set "ADMUX |= (1<<REFS1);" to use the internal 1.1V reference, I can not also use the port for I/O ? If so, does that mean that the 1.1V appears on that pin?
