USB pinout puzzle

Why are there differences in the USB pinouts? Eg by googling for the diagrams, there are two versions:

i dont think there is.. i might be wrong but the pics are diff ways up therefore the pins look the other way round

from what i can make out (i did google ) one pic shows from the device end and one from the computer have a look here you will see the device end D+ and D- crossed over **broken link removed** look at the usb b pic
