Understanding and designing PCB

I have no experience of how to read, understand and design PCB. Can some one tell me about an understandable tutorial regarding PCBs?
And how can learn designing the PCB easily using a free software?

Hi sdmuashr,

your questions are a bit vague.

Software is no problem. Obtain Eagle light by downloading the latest version from CadSoft Online: EAGLE Layout Editor.

To create a PCB you should draw a schematic first using the parts you intend to use with the PCB.

When it's finished you simply type "board" and Eagle will create a board with all components connected by "air wires" which you'll have to move onto the dimension area.

Placing of components is done by logic and intuition to leave the least amount of crossing air wires before routing, which can be done automatically (autorouter) or manually.

Well, in order to read, understand and design PCB, i would suggest this tutorial, it tells about all the different terms used when describing a PCB.
