Tutorials for Interfacing a microcontroller to GSM

hello,
I'd like to start learning from zero how to interface a 8051 microcontroller to GSM.

My target is to be able to interface to the microcontrller from the internet.
I assume that it is what called: "interfacing a microcontroller to GSM"; right?

Where should I start?

Get a GSM modem with a RS232 port. That would be the easiest to interface with most microcontrollers.
