What's the differance between the JAN prefixed transistors and the non-JAN transistors?

And of course, all that testing makes them much more expensive, often ten times or more from their commercial equivalents.

Transistor mil processing (1977 timeframe) :



Industry basically left the mil business forcing Military into more commercial part usage, cannot
remember timeframe this started....I think driven by US Government funds drying up for semi-
conductor biz back in the day.

I once subscribed to the RFQ's in Ohio for all military spare parts with JAN parts for millions of $us per day and amazed at the budget for spare parts and big profits.
