Hi
I am trying to build a traffic light design for a school project using a 5 bit ring shift counter. what would be the best IC to build this 5 bit ring shift counter???

Combination of D flip flops:
two 40175's or
one 40175 and one 4013 or
three 4013's

hi thank u for ur reply,

i have changed my design. i am using a 7490 mod 10 counter but for some reason my circuit does not work properly. i designed it so that red lights up for the first 3 counts, amber lights up for the next 4 counts and green for the last three counts but it does'nt seem to work when i test it on multisim.

can anyone tell me why???
