Anyone interested in the early days of computers in the US will find this interesting. The film has been on tours to mostly universities. You can stream it from netflix.

In 1942, when computers were human and women were underestimated, a group of female mathematicians helped win a war and usher in the modern computer age. Seventy years later their story has finally been told.

One rather interesting is that when the first ladies were interviewed for positions as programmers the interview was perplexed as he did not know what to ask as it was a new field. He finally asked them if they were afraid of electricity. This makes sense if you understand that this computer was programmed by moving wires around and flipping switches.
