Hi guys,

Sorry I am not sure If I have used the right place to ask my question or not.

I just want to know what is the meaning of "tonal signal " in audio aplication?

Somebody just told me that his audio device works well with tonal signal only.
What he meant really plz?

thanks a bunch

An audio tone is usually continuous, at a single frequency and at a single amplitude. It is usually a sine-wave. Like telephone touch-tones.
In contrast, speech or music is not continuous, its frequency is not single and its amplitude changes all over the place. The waveforms vary very much.
