time delay relay question

Hey,

I am currently trying to wire up a circuit using a relay and a 555 timer.

Heres what I want:

1. When a switch is activated, there is a 1-5 second delay before activating a relay.

2. When the relay activates, a notofication appliance such as an led, bell etc.. is activated.

3. When you put the switch back to normal, the notification such as an led, bell etc.. keeps going off until another button is pressed.

If somebody can draw me a schematic, that would be great. As simple as possible.

Thanks.

Chris.
