The DSP project using the dsPIC30F4013

I have to program a dsPIC30F4013 chip to perform such basic functions as ADC, tone and volume control. The input to the chip is an analogue audio signal and the output should be a PWM signal. I do not know what language to use but someone recommended assembly language (or dsPIC language). So may someone help me with the code for the analogue to digital conversion of the audio signal. I would also be glad if I can get the bass and treble control code as well as the volume control code.

Texas Instruments makes DSP ICs and have programs written for them to perform loudness, bass and treble adjustment. The programs also do a lot more than just the basic audio functions.
