We know the UN will enter on the side opposite Israel. (Too bad we can't use simpler words here.) We know that American policy will support the UN.

The real question is, will American troops fire on Israeli troops? What if they do? And more important, what if they don't?

The US should stay out of it, but lacks the leadership to do that.

Complicated problem. But having said that, the same thing will probably happen as last time. Israel will go in and buldoze them one more step closer to the stone age and the rocket attacks will slow down.
I've heard the Myans didn't understand leap year so their calandar already ran out.

This is what it is about: https://www.foxnews.com/world/2012/...aza-as-signs-mount-possible-israeli-invasion/

A serious difference this time is the changed leadership of Egypt. Although Mubarak was not pro-Israel, he stayed out of the conflicts officially. He did allow or at least did not aggressively try to stop smuggling of arms across the border. The new leadership is much more anti-Israel and has said, according to American news, that it will support Hamas.
