Hi all,
Just bought the AD9851 Generator.....works great....can i use it with a seperate keypad ???? as the buttons are so small.......also do you have any idea where a can obtain a box/case for the generator ...my days of filing out readout apertures are past now..... hope i posted this in the correct place
thanks jim

The AD9851 is a single chip. I assume you've bought a ready made board / controller / PCB or something ?

Pop a picture and/or a link to it and with a bit of luck you'll get more help. I've been having fun with a couple of the AD9850 boards I got from eBay for pennies - hooked them up to the PC parallel port to test them.

My pic of the generator

The buttons should easily be able to be extended by connecting spst switches in parallel with the ones on the board.

As for a case, I think you'd be out of luck trying to find one off the shelf unless the people who designed this have also sorted a case for sale for it.

Okay thanks.......tried on ebay for a spst keypad but no luck only separate switches.......there is a video on utube of a guy using a keypad....the case i guess is a trip to Maplins Monday

I have an ad9850 in a crystal oven, I programmed a pic12f629 to control the device over rs232, makes an excellent signal source, works as a sweeper too.

Some of those chinese kits have an optional case, check ebay.
