TFT module resolution question

Hi,
What happens if a small TFT-monitor with a PAL/NTSC interface with a resolution of 480x234 is connected to a device which sends a 640x480 signal?

Does it show the whole image with lower resolution or does it just show a piece of the 640x480 image?

It probably won't show anything, because the line and frame frequencies are all wrong!.

actually, most of these small tft panels with onboard defurgling for tv pics are smart enough to sort it out and show a window into what you send it...at least that's been my experience with the Sunful Digital and Primeview ones anyway...
