Telephone Monitor and Controller

I have to log calls for its start time, end time, duration etc using a DTMF decoder and a PIC microcontroller so that it could be retreived upon request. As well i have to be able to activate an external electrical device such as an air condition using the decoded DTMF signals from the PIC. I have found circuit diagrams that can do them both but not doing both in ONE circuit diagram. Trying to put together these two things(Monitoring calls and controlling the external electrical) in one diagram using the PIC16FXX MCU, i run out of I/O ports. Could anyone refer me to ONE circuit diagram that could do all these things. Thanks for any help.
