Could someone suggest a voltage mode PWM, preferably able to source/sink up to 12V, 0.5amps, which outputs a duty cycle from 0 to > 90%, in a DIP package. It doesn't need to have very high frequency (actually I would prefere to use relatively low frequency, ~1KHz).

Thank You
Sebastian

Actually the SG3525A is only good for 200 mA.
Not 500 mA, Unless you use a Mosfet on the output.

You can also use a TL594 for this purpose, But Again, it needs a Mosfet to drive that current.

You can try DigiKey parametric search ("voltage mode pwm"). There are some chips that give greater than 90% duty cycle. The TL594 is apparently limited to 90% (45% each output). John

It is NOT.
It basically goes 0 to 100%

Zero Duty cycle occurs when pin 4 is typically at 3 volts. (max 3.3 volts)

Maximum duty cycle (very Near 100%) occurs when pin 4 is at 0 volts.
