Student in need of help with LEDS

Hi i am currently doing a project for me degree. Iam designing a prop for a stage performance. I have a MDF flat which has about 45 different LEDS on it i would like them to flash in a certain sequence or a few different sequences. I have no idea where to start to go about designing this circuit.

any help will be most appreciated

what current do/can they carry ?

typical forward current..?
typical forward foltage??

It doesnt say any of the spec about these LEDS they are coming from www.techsupplies.co.uk which is a link from www.picaxe.co.uk

do i need to wait till i have the LEDS as they have just been ordered to recieve the spec before i can work out how to do this project???

If you really get stuck buy a set of LED xmas tree lights. They are really cheap and have loads of diff sequences built in and it may save you hours of work.
