I have recently replaced a stove element on an electric stove, and got some heat-resistant stranded wire from the old element. I'm quite reluctant to throw it away without exploring its possible uses, not necessarily in a stove, but in a similar temperature environment. It would be great to hear some ideas. Thanks.

Build your own hot air rework tool, or a soldering iron. There's nothing really special about the wire per say, it's the insulation that's special.

Hi ssylee,
Those old stove elements have heap of good uses TheBackShed.com - Encapsulated Resistors

The problem here in Oz is those stupid laws have killed any chance of finding them anymore.

Cheers Bryan
