Hi All ,

i build a stepper motor driver using L298 and L297 controller, the same schematic in the L298 datasheet ..... it works fine but the two 0.5 ohm resotors that are connected to Sen1 and Sen2 in L297 are over heated ..... could you please advice why that happend ?

thanks

Your resistors are to small. Thay must take the full power of the motor. Did you use 2 watt resistors?

2 watt resistors operated at full power will get hot.
You could use 5 watt resistors, allthough you need to bear in mind that you cannot overate the output of the l298 for long.
