Start-Up Current Draw of a PIC16F684 or equivalent?

Hi All, Does anyone know what the typical start-up/peak current a PIC16F684 or equivalent draws?

I am having trouble turning on circuitry with a 1.4V to 2.7V DC-DC converter involving a PIC16F684. I am using a small battery, so I know its energy and current sourcing is limitied and I feel it has to do with start-up currents. With my limited test capabilities, I am unable to measure this.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance!

If you are initializing the I/O ports in a funny way, you could be creating a conflict that causes the PIC to draw many 10s of mA until the initialization is complete. Also some PICs with internal oscillators default to the highest available clock rate, so draw more power until you select a slower clock source.
