Spice models

Does anyone know where I can obtain a SPICE model for the CA3131 or CA3140 op amps?

I have looked at the Intersil site, but I cannot find a SPICE model for these on it. They have data sheets for them but no SPICE models for them, even though they do have models for other ICs in their range.

Any advice will be appreciated

Hi Len,
They are older than computers. Why not use a modern opamp that has all the newest info? Modern opamps work a lot better and cost less than those old ones anyway.

I searched the Intersil site but did not find CA3131. Found CA3130, is that similar? What kind of model do you need? An AC model (linear) or a transient model with common mode and I/O limitations? With a data sheet, I should be able to generate a SPICE model.

There's a resource that sometimes works: Search Google Groups. Below are the results of searching for "ca3140 spice".

Thanks for the responses. I'll take Audio's advice and look for a more modern IC. I prefer to buy from the local electronics shops, but they only have a limited range.

If all else fails I'll have to order from RS Components. This requires a train and bus trip.

Hi Len,
Farnell are worldwide (click on your country's flag) and carry millions of the latest electronic parts. They ship by courier or by snail-mail.

I have recommended to others who are Down-Under to avoid buying stuff from Dick Smith Surplus Electronics (and Used Car Parts?) store.

I rarely go to Dick Smith. I use Semtronics who sell to the trade and are reasonably priced, but don't have as much range as RS or Farnell.

Farnell are located in Sydney so the delivery charge is likely to be more than the cost of the item.
