I'm working on design project protyping an Audio Compass for the Visually Impaired. For reasons and details I won't go into, we're using the HandyBoard and Interactive C to interface with the **broken link removed**. We need to be obtain a 16-bit number from the module, but only seem to be able to get 8-bits, and we're not sure if the code we're using is anywhere near correct (modified from some other SPI Interactive C code we found on the web). We're fairly lost and any help would be much appreciated!

SPI willl only transfer 8 bits at a time. You'll have to read the high byte, then low byte. Also make sure you controller does not send an ACK bit after it finishes the read
