Sound Monitor

Hi,

Could someone give me a heads up on some suitable free software please.

I want to microphone record overnight snoring onto the PC and then review the periods/intensity of noise next day, so I need a program that will show a simple sound wave but that can be quickly forwarded over the silent periods of sleep.

They are intended for use in monitoring radio systems, but they are activated by the audio signal.

Audacity® is free, open source, cross-platform software for recording and editing sounds.

Might be a good solution to what you want to do.
