Sound card -> TV

Hello All,

One of my mates wants to use his computer to watch dvds on his tv. He has a cable & everything works, only he has a crappy sound card and the sound is really low. I want to build (and sell ) him a preamp for it, but i don't know where to start.

Could anyone offer me any help?

If the volume is low, there is probably lots of noise in the signal (which would just be amplified). It is better, easier, and cheaper to buy a new soundcard.

The dickhead didn't have his volume up high enough on the windows mixer. Tchh.
