Sony DVD player - no sound

Hi all,

Very long time since my last post, hope everyone is keeping well.

I have a Sony DVD player which is around six years old, about a month ago a problem started where dvds would lose sound for a few minutes and then come back.

Now there is no sound altogether, I have done the obvious and checked the leads but I suspect there is a fault in the box.

I an not averse to taking the lid off and taking a look, but could someone point me in the right direction?

Electronic faults like that are EXTREMELY rare, how are you connecting the audio?.
