Solderless Breadboard, Good idea???

Is using a solderless breadboard to prototype a circuit a good idea? I know it can create some noise in the circuit, but how much? Is it noise enough to disturb a PIC running at 16mhz? Are some breadboards better than others?

It's not so much noise as it is capacitance. There are a LOT of spring loaded metal strips laying right next to each other, the capacitance coupling is pretty high. Most people don't recommend using signals on the board higher than 16mhz or so. You should be able to run your PIC fine, though if you're going to use a crystal you may have to use different load capacitors if you ever move the circuit to a real PCBoard.
