solar charger for mobile phone

hi guys , currently i still trying to figure what goes wrong with my solar charger to charge mobile phone , the output using USB cable .
but i quite confuse that , should i add a battery into it so it will store power from the solar panel
anw my project is not working .
guys out there really need your help , becos is my final year project .


another question is . what is a ferrite antenna rod and 1/2" diameter large ferrite beads

where can i easily get ???????????????????

ok here my circuit diagram

PC1 3 volt solar cell from a sidewalk solar light
C1 22 uF, 10 volt (values not critical)
C2 100 pF, any voltage or type, typically ceramic
C3 10 uF, 16 volt or more for higher voltage battery
R1 1.5 k, any type
R2 3.9k, any type
R3 10k, any type
R4 180 ohm, any type
R5 4.7k, any type
R6 10 ohm PTC (see text).------------------------------ i don know what this , n where to get
L1 50 to 300 uH (see text).------------------------------ i don know what this , n where to get
D1 1N5818 schottky rectifier, just about any will do.
Q1 2N4403, or similar
Q2 2N4401, or similar
J1 output jack
B1 6 volt NiCad battery w/fuse-------------------------- for this can i replace 4 AA battery voltage around 4.5

R6 and L1 it says "see text" What does the text say?

B1 when they say "6 volt NiCad" it probably means 4 cells of 1.2 volts each (which is actually 4.8V). You can use a holder of 4 AA NiCad or NiMH. Alkaline is not rechargeable and should not be used here.
