SO and SOIC

Is there any difference between SO and SOIC?
I have downloaded the spec of SN74ALS1035D from Texas Instrument and wish to know the difference between page 10 and 11. Anyone can advise me? Thanks.

SO: Small Outline (package charateristic)
SOIC: Small Outline Integrated Circuit

I think both words mean the same and I have looked here

for the difference on Texas Intrument specifications you want to know but there are only 4 pages, where did you check that documentation?

Look at the table 'ordering inforation' on page 1.

The device is only available in the 'D'-style SOIC (page 10)
You can't get it in the 'NS' package (page 11).

Also they are nearly the same, the only difference I see is that the body of the "D" type is a bit smaller than the "NS" type and the package quantity is also difference in case they supply them to you (D=50 and NS=2000).
