Smoke Detector Wiring Question

Hey, I was wondering if it was possible to use an interconnectable smoke alarm to activate an external device/relay without using the accessory relay. The reason is that i have found many detectors that come with interconnect adapters but i cannot find an accessory relay anywhere, and it did say the interconnect adapter will activate certain devices such as strobelights.. any ideas? or even if i could use a normal relay and hack it up to make it work.

Basicly I want, when smoke activates the detector, i want a fire bell to go off instead of the piezo in the detector. (i dont care if the piezo still goes off).

Chris.

Can you post more information please? Perhaps a picture of the product or spec sheet. What is the drive voltage at the output?
