What are the bad things about a generators slew rate?

What kind of problems can a generators slew rate cause?

When you overload or Draw to much current from a Generator, its causes a slew rate problem , how can you fix this type of problems when there is a current surge or overload on the output of a generator, causing it's slew rate issue?

Op amps don't have a DC offset on the input and output?

When there is a DC offset or DC component on the input, it causes to mess up the OP amps Slew Rate?

Generator I mean an AC 120 VAC generator that uses a Motor, The generators Motor has a Slew Rate

When you "overload" or a "Current in rush" on the output of the Generators motor, it will slow down the motor and it ramps up / slew rate changes causing a ramping down and up

Why does have a High Slew rate cause over or under shoots?

How can a slew rate cause Oscillations?

You are referring to mechanical slew rate of the motor or engine to quickly adjust to a sudden change in torque load.

In a generator there are several factors and solutions. A larger flywheel on the engine is an energy storage vehicle and can reduce the drop in rpm's due to a sudden load change on the engine. Its downside is it slows feedback loop response time. In practice all it does is smooth out the surge over a longer period of time.

If you do the calculations of engine horsepower to electrical alternator power ratios for typical AC generators you will find the engine power is alway in the order of 1.5 to 2 times the 746 watts / hp theoretical conversion. Part of this is to provide extra engine power capability to respond to load slew rate without too much drop in engine rpm which translates to a frequency change in AC output.

Beside providing reserve power in the engine you also need a feedback control system that can throttle the engine properly with quick response time without overshoot or oscillation in the engine rpm's. The old original way was a wind vane driven by blower fins on the flywheel with direct mechanical linkage to the carborator throttle. Modern techniques is an electronic system with hall effect sensor on flywheel for rpm detection and a stepper motor driving the throttle.

What causes load slew rate problems?

I don't want modify the generators

What kind of buffer can I put inbetween the ac generator and its load? The buffer would fix the overloading problem and current surge or over current draw causing the ac generators motor to load the slew rate

Slew rate is simply the rate-of-change of some parameter, such as speed or voltage, with time. The term "load the slew rate" makes no sense.

If you are talking about starting an induction motor like in a water pump or compressor you can sometimes improve the ability of a generator to take the surge by spreading it out to a lower peak surge over a greater period of time.

You can buy or make a soft starter modules which are basically triac controlled switch that increases the conduction angle over a period of 100 to 800 msec which will reduce the peak startup current on induction motors.
