K Kane2oo2 New Member Mar 9, 2004 #1 hi just been trying out an old oscilloscope to see if i could figure out how to work it well i connected it to the output of a 555 and saw kind of a square wave but the peak of the wave was like a sawtooth. What is this caused by?

S spuffock Member Mar 9, 2004 #2 If your squarewave is a few hertz, it sounds like you've got the coupling set to ac. try dc. At higher frequency, a few khz, a little trimmer in the probe might need adjusting. twiddle for the best squarewave
