As time goes on this forum seems to get more and more popular with electronics enthusiasts, we have nearly hit 20,000 registered members which is an amazing feat! As more an more users are posting there is more and more demand on the server that hosts this site.
The server that this site currently resides on is being shared with many other sites, the tech term is Virtual Web Hosting. Now, we are at a stage where we need an entire server (a dedicated server) for hosting this site, which we will hopefully be setting up in the next month or two.
The outcome of this will simply be better performance in high load times (for example when we have 73 users viewing the board at one time - record set on 18 May!) and increased speed which will lower page load times.
We have been tracking load times for the last week (you may have noticed the details at the bottom of the pages) and will continue to monitor these to see just how fast/slow the current server is running. It would help if you could also provide information on how you are finding the site.
Have you noticed slowdowns lately? Or during certain times of the day?
