How to interface the microcontroller with the PC using the USB-UART bridge? I also wanted to display the waveform on PC with the help of matlab..
 
Buy a USB serial port . Get a microcontroller with a built in serial UART. Wire the two together.

Figure out a protocol to move bytes from the micro to the PC (maybe CSV?) that Matlab can read.
