Hi
I have 2 modules (carts) that most communicate with each other via some optical device (sending/receiving identity and position). The carts will be placed in front of each other and will not be moved when in place for a long time. The data received from this optical device goes to a micro (slave) which convert it via Modbus protocol and send it to the master. The micro also sends data through this devoices. Can anyone suggest a simple optical device for purchasing that can do this (both sending and receiving)? It should be as simple and cheap as possible.

Tanks in advance

How about the TSOP type receivers like used in TV remotes?
