Searching for a weight sensor

hello,

I'm searching for an inexpensive weight sensor for a project. I want to weigh different objects 10 lbs. or less and display the weight information on a web page. The only hardware I can find are load cells and the cost for the load cell and USB converter is 250.00. I was hoping to find a smaller less expensive piece of equipment. Any recommendations?

...throw a PIC at it and it works amazingly. I used this one as a gee-wiz project for measuring snow weight on a roof. Works pretty well, fits in tight spots, is flexible and very affordable...what else could you ask for!
