I'm looking into an ultrasound range finder. I see that there are options to purchase the complete kits but would like to condsider building my own - or at least understanding how the circuit works.

Can anyone explain what kind of signal I need to send to the ultrasound Tx and what kind of signal do I get back from the Rx?

Does anyone have any good circuits for teh Tx and Rx that they could explain?

Appreciate any feedback.
