Rotating Field Questions

I am quite interested in rotating fields. I've found a bit of information on how to generate a rotating field here (**broken link removed**), but I'm not quite sure what I would need to build this generator. If anyone has had any experience working with rotating fields or is knowledgeble about them, I would appreciate the assistance.
