Remote control for dogs

I was half watching a commercial tonight. I guess the lady gave her dog a treat after rolling over but it looked like she was using a remote control on the dog!
I thought that's a good idea! I could make a remote control for dogs that would put out different dog whistle signals.
Shortly into my preliminary research, I found out there is already "an app for that".
Oh well…

Probably a clicker. Dogs can be trained by using "click" from a clicker. Not exactly sure how it's done though.
